Features & Benefits
FREESTANDING ANCHORS
CAI’s freestanding fall protection system is supported from concrete piers. This engineered approach gives you the option of having an outdoor fall arrest system that supports your Railcar loading needs.
CURVED RAIL TRACK
If your railcars are serviced over a curved track we have a solution. Our fall protection system can be configured to offer strategically placed anchors around your railcar track allowing us to match the fall arrest cable horizontal lifeline system with the radius of your track.
HORIZONTAL LIFELINE SYSTEM ABOVEÂ YOUR RAILCAR
Once on top of the Railcar the user is able to walk uninterrupted the length of the horizontal lifeline or crouch down with no restriction on movement. Pass-through features on cable systems means you only tie-off once and then walk the full span of the horizontal lifeline.
RAILCAR CLEARANCE
CAI’s freestanding fall arrest anchors are designed to comply with the railroad minimum clearance requirements.
EASY TO INSTALL
To reduce field assembly time, our fall protection products are shipped fabricated with detailed assembly instructions. Assembly comprises of steel erection with bolting and clamping of the major components.
OSHA &Â ANSI COMPLIANT
We have an in-house team to engineer and manufacture the freestanding fall arrest system. This means we can monitor the QA and QC throughout the process to make sure the product delivered to your doorstep is safe and meets your specification needs.
CANTILEVER SYSTEM FOR DUAL TRACKS
Often the need to service railcars on two parallel tracks creates a dilemma if there is no space to place the anchor between tracks. CAI has developed a solution by placing this anchor on the outside of one track AND then cantilevering over both tracks thereby providing a means for suspending an anchor point or horizontal lifeline over each railcar track.
Fall Arrest Anchor:Â The freestanding anchor provides an overhead means of tie-off to reduce the chances of a swing fall and fall distance.
Retrieval System:Â Safety starts at the ground level. Our pulley retrieval system allows the user to access the fall arrest system before even attempting to climb the vehicle or equipment that is going to be worked on.
Horizontal Lifeline:Â This is a rigid track or stainless steel cable lifeline that runs the desired length to allow the user to have access to the work area.
Connecting Means:Â A trolley that is designed to glide over the rigid or cable horizontal lifeline system. This feature keeps the fall arrest system directly above the user to reduce the chances of a swing fall.
Fall Arrest Device:Â The self-retracting lifeline is utilized to reduce the arresting forces of the fall on the user and minimize the fall distance.
Full Body Harness:Â Only a full body harness can be used in a fall arrest system such as the freestanding fall protection system. The harness reduces the forces of the fall on the body and also keeps the user in an upright position when properly worn.
