	Vertical Cable Lifeline – The cable will be a stranded galvanized steel or stainless steel cable that can be fitted on straight and curved ladders. User remains secured to the cable system for the entire length of the ladder.
	Telescoping Extension/Pole – The telescoping pole extends three feet above the highest ladder rung. This allows the user to safely access or exit the hatch by attaching to the fall arrest anchor (self-retracting lifeline) on top of the telescoping post. The telescoping single point anchor extends 30”.
	Cable Trolley (Included with system) – The trolley is designed to follow the user along the lifeline while ascending or descending and instantly lock in the event of a fall. Integrated with stainless steel shock-absorbing element that includes an impact indicator so that user can confirm system is safe prior to use.
	Nano-Lok 6 ft. Please follow the following guidelines to ensure you use this system as per the manufacturer’s instructions:
PLEASE NOTE: The top and bottom brackets of this system are Galvanized Steel, and not Stainless Steel. Stainless Steel is not available for top/bottom brackets.

• Ladder Structure: Ladder structure must be certified by a qualified person to support 2700 lbs.
• Capacity: One person with a combined weight (clothing, tools, etc.) of no more than 310 lbs. (140 kg) 1 per person.
• Self-retracting Lifeline (SRL) Maximum Arresting Force: 1,350 lbs. (6 kN)
• Telescoping Pole Anchor: The telescoping pole will extend single point anchor to 30” (0.76m). The pole serves as a single point anchor for a single user attachment. Minimum breaking strength is 3,600 lbs. (16kN). Conforms to OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140.
• Trolley/Sleeve: Used as a Sleeve in vertical systems. Allows the user to move freely up and down the system while maintaining attachment. Use only with supplied carabiner or snap hook.
• Full-body Harness: Requires a front D-Ring.
• Standards/Approvals: OSHA 1926.1053, 1910.29, ANSI Z359.16, CSA Z259.2.5

Ladder to Roof Transition Steps (ascending and descending ladder):

Figure 1		Step 1: Inspect all equipment before use. Verify and inspect condition and function of all components. Step 2: Don the full-body harness securely. Ensure all straps are properly adjusted for a snug fit—tight enough for safety, but not restrictive. Step 3: Attach Class 1 SRL. Connect the SRL to the back strap of the full-body harness (refer to manufacturer’s manual in the ‘Downloads’ tab for proper connection). Step 4: Attach the cable sleeve carabiner. Connect the cable sleeve carabiner to the front D-ring of the harness.
Figure 2		Step 5: Connect the detachable cable sleeve. Secure the cable sleeve to the Lad-Saf vertical cable. Ensure arrow indicators point upward and lock the detachable feature in place.
Figure 3		Step 6: Test the connection. Gently tug the cable sleeve to confirm it is locked and secure. Step 7: Climb the ladder safely. Maintain three points of contact at all times (two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand). Climb deliberately—avoid sudden or jerky movements. Use a tool belt or hoist for carrying tools; do not carry tools by hand while climbing. Step 8: Remain connected to the ladder FPS at all times. Do not disconnect from the system while on the ladder.
Figure 4		Step 9: Extend the telescoping post at the ladder top. Unlock the retaining pin, extend the post, and reinsert the pin to lock it securely in place. This is the extension post identified as part named Telescoping Extension.
Figure 5		Step 10: Attach the Class 1 SRL. Connect the Class 1 SRL to the telescoping post D-ring above, ensuring 100% tie-off is maintained. Step 11: Transition to the roof. While still attached to the telescoping post D-ring, detach the cable sleeve from the Lad-Saf system. Maintain three-point contact during the transition. Step 12: Disconnect only behind fall protected edges. Once safely behind a fall protected edge (e.g. guardrail or self-closing gate), the operator may disconnect from the telescoping post D-ring. Step 13: Descend using reverse procedure. Follow Steps 12 through 1 in reverse order while descending the ladder.

OPERATING PROCEDURES

• Never use the system for any other purpose than to arrest a user’s fall. If the system is used for anything else such as, rigging/lifting equipment, it must be taken out of commission until inspected by a CAI representative or competent person as defined by ANSI Z359.0.
• A rescue plan must be in place in case a fall arrest occurs.
