This Competent Person Training Course is designed for those who supervise, implement and monitor a managed fall program. Hands-on training and extensive classroom instruction combined with practical and written exams are based on the requirements of OSHA Regulations , and ANSI Z359.2 Standards. Students learn to identify hazardous situations, construct programs and make proper equipment choices to deal with fall hazards.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate evidencing he has met or exceeded OSHA and ANSI requirements as a Competent Person.

As an option, CAISS also offers a five day competent person training course that conforms to ANSI ASSE Z359 standard and meets the criteria for OPNAVINST 510 .23G and Department of the NAVY Fall Protection Guide, date May 2015.

Topics Discussed

The OSHA and ANSI Competent Person Training teaches the student to recognize dangerous situations, choose the appropriate equipment, and develop the necessary programs for fall safety. Upon completion, a certificate acknowledges that the graduate has met or exceeded OSHA and ANSI standards.

This Authorized Person Training Course is designed to create awareness while overviewing the issues involved with fall protection. It is hands-on and interactive. Students learn to identify potential fall hazards, determine possible solutions, make equipment selections and implement the proper fall protection. This course is required for employees who will be working first hand with the fall protection system while exposed to a fall hazard.

This Train the Trainer Person Course focuses on creating trainers who will have both the documented fall protection experience, and knowledge, to instruct a fall protection Authorized Person course within their own company. It is based on OSHA Regulations and the new ANSI Z359.2 standard, and incorporates both extensive classroom instruction and hands-on practical experience, along with both written and practical examinations.
