CAI Safety’s Swing Arm Fall Protection System was designed to provide OSHA fall protection that does not interfere with the operation of the overhead crane. The arms simply fold away from the work area when not required to allow the overhead crane full access. When needed the safety system is folded in to position to provide an overhead fall arrest system that allows personnel to work safely and efficiently.
Fall Protection Challenge
Most assembly, maintenance, and loading work is done with the aid of an overhead crane. Often a person has to be working at heights and exposed to a fall in areas with overhead cranes. Installing a fixed overhead fall protection system is not feasible because of the conflict with the overhead crane.

The CAI Swing Arm Fall Arrest System provides a system that can be extended to support employees who need fall protection at heights. The system can easily be retracted away from the work area when you need full access to the overhead crane. Our swing arm system is custom manufactured and OSHA complaint.

Features & Benefits
Ease Of Operation
Operation of the system is simple: The user extends the swing arm into position and ties off to the Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) already installed on the system. Once work is completed, the user unhooks from the SRL and simply retracts the swing arm into a retracted position.
No Interference With Overhead Crane
This System simply extends or retracts with the help of a user control box installed with the system.
Ergonomic
By using low friction hinges with aluminum rigid rail track, we make the operation of the foldaway swing arm fall protection system smooth and user friendly.
Aluminum Rigid Track
The rigid track on the swing arm system provides free movement of the Self-retracting Lifeline so that the user can move freely over the length of the track, not hindering work performed.
Fall Arrest Capability
A self-retracting lifeline connects users to the swing arm system. When the user falls, the lifeline locks and thus arrests a fall.
Automated Or Manual Options
The ability to swing the system in use position or to foldaway when not in use can now be achieved with manual and electric operated options. The manual system is a two person requirement while the automated system only requires one person to operate. Either option is intended allow the user to move the fall protection system at a pace that will support the productivity of your application.

Rigid Rail Track: This is an aluminum rigid track that runs the desired length to allow the user to have access to the work area. |
| Rigid Rail Trolley: A Trolley that is designed to glide over the rigid or cable horizontal lifeline system. This feature keeps the fall arrest system directly above the user to reduce the chances of a swing fall. | |
| Self-retracting Lifeline: The Self-retracting Lifeline is utilized to reduce the arresting forces of the fall on the user and minimize the fall distance. | |
| Swing-Arm/Fold Away: Allows the system to be extended when fall protection is required and retracted when access is required for overhead crane. | |
| Full Body Harness: Only a full body harness can be used in a fall arrest system such as the freestanding fall protection system. The harness reduces the forces of the fall on the body and also keeps the user in an upright position when properly worn. |
