CAI provides Fixed Skylight Safety Systems that are OSHA and CAL OSHA fall protection compliant. The skylight screens promote “Passive protection” which means that the user does not have to be trained or does not need to take any active action to remain safe around the skylight. The Skylight Screens are available in a range of sizes and configurations to retrofit your skylights that range from acrylic dome and corrugated fiberglass skylights. Our safety systems are designed to be tough and reliable to provide you with years of fall protection.

Product Description

The Dome Skylight Screen were developed in response to OSHA Regulation 29CFR 910.23 (e)(8) NIOSH Alert 90-100. This regulation requires skylight protection to prevent worker deaths and injuries from falls through skylights and roof openings. The Dome Skylights are cost-effective, easy to install and provide protection from falls through acrylic dome skylights.

Product Description

The Skylight Screens for Corrugated Metal Roofs prevent falls through corrugated fiberglass skylights. They are easy to install and prove to be cost effective when compared to the potential time and money expended as the result of a fall-related accident. Often times, these skylight screens are difficult to detect by people on the roof because they are at the same level and have the same profile as the corrugated metal roof panels.

Corrugated Metal Roof Skylight - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Do not place body weight on skylight during installation. Use extreme caution when installing the Skylight Safety Screens and always wear gloves when handling skylight screens.

Product Description

The Skylight Screens for Standing Seam Metal Roofs are similar to regular corrugated fiberglass skylights —they are at the same level as the roof and have the same profile. They can be easily overlooked when a person is working or walking on the roof. Skylight Safety Screens are easy to install and allow for a proactive rather than reactive solution to a safety hazard.

Standing Seam Roof Skylight - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Do not place body weight on corrugated fiberglass at any time during installation. Corrugated fiberglass will not support body weight. Wear gloves when handling screen.

  • With the opening in the notches in the Skylight Safety Screen rail facing upward (toward the ridge), attach the flange of the Skylight rail to the outside of the standing seam (opposite the skylight) with the furnished stainless steel hex washer head self-drilling screws.
  • Slip the Skylight Safety Screen into position onto the attached rails.
