Roof Skylight Systems
The Fixed Skylight Screens are available in a range of sizes and configurations to retrofit your skylights that range from acrylic dome and corrugated fiberglass skylights. Our safety systems are designed to be tough and reliable to provide you with years of fall protection.
Sizes for the Skylight Cover Guard fit skylights that range from 33" L x 33" W x 20" H to 52" x 52" x 31" H. The systems fits existing square and rectangular roof skylights without penetrating the rooftop surface.

A skylight is nothing but an opening in the roof to let in light. However, to ensure that only light is let through and not undesirable elements like leaves/dust/dirt/grime/snow/wind/hail/rain, a layer of glass is used. Some of them have a 'curved' layer of glass so that should any of the 'undesirable elements' fall on it, they won't stay there, but fall along the curve, aided by gravity.
When people work on the roof, there is a clear and explicit danger – they could fall in through the skylight, shattering the glass in the process. Skylight glass is not strong enough to withstand a lot of force.
Our OSHA-compliant roof skylight guards prevent this worst-case scenario from happening.
Fixed skylight screens: These are ideal for standing seam and corrugated roofs, as well as for dome-shaped skylights. To let the maximum amount of sunlight through, the 'screens' are galvanized meshes. They provide what is known as 'passive protection' – that is to say, someone working around the vicinity of such an installed fixed skylight screen need not be trained in any safety-related measures or take any safety precautions. The screens meant for installation on corrugated and standing seam roofs have a PVC bumper around the perimeter so as not to let the protruding ends harm anyone. This is in the interests of safety.
Non-penetrating cover guards: This features an unique design in that no holes need to be drilled/bored into the roof for installing the cover guard or to hold it in place. In fact, it is so sturdy that it could easily withstand wind speeds of up to 100 mph without being blown away. It can also resist a lot of force – should anyone fall on it, the cover guard sees to it that he/she will not come into contact with the glass. This is how it serves its safety objectives.
It is also a one-piece design – there is no need for any assembly prior to installation.
Non-penetrating skylight rail: This is a guardrail to prevent people from falling on to the skylight. It is most useful when the skylight has a pyramid shape and neither a fixed skylight screen nor a non-penetrating cover guard can be installed. It also works with dome-shaped and flat-glass skylights, although it doesn't provide 'passive protection' – there is nothing to prevent someone from tipping over the guardrails and falling on to the skylight. To overcome this, you can choose the height of the guardrails yourself.
This too features the non-penetrating design, so you need not worry about drilled holes letting in rain through the extremely small spaces between any screws/nuts/bolts and the trapped moisture causing corrosion and/or damage to the roof.
