Loading Dock Gates
High visibility markings provide warning to all persons in proximity. A positive locking mechanism holds Cantilever Dock Gate fully open or closed.
Only eight concrete anchor bolts are required to anchor the Cantilever Dock Gate to the dock floor.
Gate only requires a 12" square footprint for installation. This feature of the Cantilever Dock Gate conserves valuable floor space in your truck loading dock or shop floor.
The gas assist struts allow the user to raise and lower the Cantilever Dock Gate effortlessly.
SINGLE OR SPLIT OPENING
Single Cantilever Dock Gate can accommodate openings of up to 10 feet. For wider openings the split opening gate can accommodate openings of up to 20 feet.
When you are short on space, or simply want to get the most out of your existing space, a cantilever gate or swing gate might provide the solution to your needs. Our OSHA-compliant loading gates are perfect for truck loading bays.
Cantilever gate: Instead of swinging sideways, the gates move upward. This preserves a lot of floor space. Opening the cantilever gates is virtually a breeze with the gas assist, and they serve anything from two feet to twenty feet. For an opening of up to ten feet, a single cantilever gate will suffice. Only for wider openings do you need a split opening dock gate. Each requires no more than a 12-square-inch footprint; and so it is space-efficient. In fact, a mere six concrete bolts are all that is required for installing a cantilever gate.
For safety, high visibility markings on the loading dock gate warn all others in proximity to stay clear of the gate when it is being operated.
Swing gate: A swing gate is nothing but a bunch of guardrails to prevent falls into the loading/truck bay (any gate's primary function is to provide safety), and you could detach one of the bases of a guardrail – each one has two – from its base plate to 'swing' it inward.
A swing gate is ideal when the height of the roof is not conducive to a cantilever gate. It takes more space, but has another advantage – it features a non-penetrating design which means the floor does not need to be drilled or bored. This makes it ideal for situations where the floor is not structurally sound – like when it may be just a metal platform set up to serve as a loading bay. The base plates are slip-resistant, so safety is well taken care of. No one will lose his balance and fall against the swing gate, only to have the swing gate give way and the worker falling into the loading bay.
They are remarkably easy to install – so much that you could do it yourself. Instead of using setscrews, pins with positive locks are used. This way, you can check if the gate has been installed correctly. They are made of steel and come in seven different colors.
If your loading dock has a unique design that makes standard cantilever/swing gates difficult to deploy, contact us so that we can fabricate one keeping your needs in mind. All our loading dock gates are OSHA-compliant and engineered to meet ANSI safety standards.
